Curriculum
LIS follows the CBSE’s School Curriculum from kindergarten to class 12, which gets its lead from the National Curriculum Framework (NCF 2005).
Curriculum areas at Primary Level, focus on encouraging inquiry, exploration and on inculcating confidence in key learning skills-reading, writing, listening ,speaking, information technology capability, problem solving. Children are encouraged to speak and perform at assemblies, participate in clubs and extracurricular activities and thus gain confidence to present themselves in a wider group.
Curriculum Areas at Secondary Level For the purpose of fostering core competence in learners, the curriculum encompasses six major learning areas, which are: Languages, Humanities, Mathematics, Science, Health and Physical Education, Performing and Visual arts. These six learning areas are to be integrated with each other in terms of knowledge, skills (life and livelihood), comprehension, values and attitudes.
Sports and Games is an integral part of the curriculum. LIS has a well developed sports curriculum that enables the students to develop their fitness & skill thereby assuring a balanced mind and body.
Sunita’s Makerspace activities are a unique part of the school curriculum nurturing the innate talents of students in various fields through 13 active clubs.
The awareness and training programmes for students such as disaster management training, fire drill, evacuation drill, adventure camps and trips, field trips, exhibitions, presentations, work experience projects, rallies etc give a strong impetus to the growth and development of the students from Nursery to class XII.
Celebrations of National and International days enrich the students with the richness of various cultures.
Competitions and events throughout the year add flavour to learning.
Our aim is to make your child happy during his stay at LIS because we believe a balanced curriculum would make him a better person.
