Navratri Celebration ( Plant A Smile)

“India is known as a land of festivals and celebration, Navratri is one of them which is unique in its perception and significance.”

Festivals are a period of celebration and bring peace and joy to everyone. They are an expressive way to celebrate glorious heritage, culture, and traditions.
To enhance that among our little ones, Laxmi International School celebrated Navratri from 3rd to 11th October 2024 with Great Spirit, enthusiasm and fun. Different activities were planned day wise aligned with “Plant A smile” project. Everyday Aarti was performed followed by the importance of Nava Durga was explained. Kids followed the color code of Navratri.

Day- 1 (Traditional Food Tasting

Navratri delicacies- Chana chat/ sabudana

vada/ Khichdi / sweets were displayed and the importance of fasting food was
explained.

Day- 2 (Visit to the Temple)

Kids in Green outfits were taken to the campus temple to take the blessings of Matadi.

.Day- 3 (Online workshop for parents)

Mrs Chandravati a mother, a good cook was invited to show two special dishes can be eaten during fasting. Those foods are healthy and delicious as well.

Day- 5 (Navratri Celebration)

Parents and kids were invited in the campus to celebrate Navratri. Dressed in traditional outfits both kids and parents enjoyed Garba and Dandiya.

.Day- 6- (Art and Craft workshop)

An Art and Craft workshop was organized for
the kids. Craft related to Navratri was taught to them. Ms Shamma a creative art teacher from Vapi conducted the workshop.

Day- 7    (Kanya puja)

First time we have organized Kanya puja in the department. 70 girls were worshipped following the rituals. Prasad and gift were distributed to them.

Day- 8 (Dramatization on Mahishasura Mardini)

Teachers and students dressed as Ma Durga, Mahisasura, Brahma. Shiva and dramatized the story of Mahisasura, how he troubled Gods and Goddesses and how Ma Durga killed him. The purpose of the dramatization is to make the kids understand that god always wins over evil.

 

.Day- 9 (Plant A Smile)

‘Plant A Smile’ a project initiated by Sunita’s Makerspace started on the very first day of Navratri. Students of Vatsalyadham initiated the Mashal Run. It started from Surat and ended at Laxmi Vidyapeeth Sarigam. The Mashal passed to different schools of Navsari, Balsad, Vapi, Sarigam and Bhilad. The purpose of the campaign is to spread happiness through some noble deeds and make people aware about the current environment crisis by planting plants.
