Ganesh Chaturthi

As we know, Ganesh Chaturthi is a festival celebrated with much fervour across India. It is important to remember, that Lokmanya Tilak was the architect of this mass celebration. It was his effort to foster the spirit of nationalism by bringing communities together on the occasion of the Ganesh festival during the struggle for independence.

Lord Ganesha or the elephant deity is considered the God of wisdom and new beginnings. Thus, people across the world worship Him before initiating any work. It is believed that he removes obstacles and blesses the course of the believer.

The legend of Lord Ganesha was narrated with animation, to the children as a classroom activity. They thoroughly enjoyed the story about how young Ganesha acquired his trunk!

On Monday 18th September a special assembly, on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, commenced with a melodious invocation, the Ganesh Vandana by the Pre-School educators. They spoke by turn about the festival and its significance followed by Ganesha Arti.
