For the first time in the history of Laxmi International School, pre primary witnessed the celebration of this auspicious festival on 8th July -2024 in school campus. The three Idols of Lord Jagannath, his elder brother Lord Balabhadra and his sister Goddess Subhadra were placed in the decorated chariot by the students of Laxmi International School, under special guidance of teachers, accompanied by chants “Jay Jagannath” which was heard all around.
The participation of the students was admirable. They were active and enthusiastic in their involvement in this festival. The young children in their traditional attires ignoring the rain pulled the chariot with devotion; it is a belief that pulling the chariots of their God during procession is a way of engaging in pure devotion of lord and destroys their sins. The Rath was placed in the campus temple for 10days and will bring it back at the department on 17th July 2024.The Campus of Laxmi International school echoed with the chant “Jay Jagannath”. The celebration ended with distribution of Prasad.
