Lohri the festival which ushers in the joyous spring and bids adieu to the hard winter, was celebrated at School with exuberance and funfare on 12th January 2024. The mood was upbeat and the children actively immersed in the festive spirit. The day started with a special assembly followed by a presentation and explained on how other states of India celebrate Makar Sankranti. Principal addressed the kids and talked about the safety measures to be followed during the festivals. She emphasized that Lohri festival prompts people to be thankful for God’s provision and also encouraged teachers to play a vital role to keep the tradition and culture alive in our festivities.
On the occasion, both children and teachers gathered in the School play field where a bonfire was lit. Folk songs were played to make the mood and soon everybody joined in the energetic rhythm! Peanuts, popcorn and gajak were handed out to the great delight of the children. While some offered these in the holy fire, others happily munched on them.
Festivals such as these help to spread good cheer and are welcomed by one and all. A nice way to welcome the New Year.
